Puppy Rearing

Puppy rearing is just a fancy way to say "raising puppies". The first 8-10 weeks of a puppies life are critical to set them up for success for life. Here at Maday, we follow a hybrid program influenced by avidog and puppy culture protocols to build well rounded dogs.

Puppies are whelped and raised indoors.

Pictured is our whelping room and where we raise puppies. We utilize vet bed to keep puppies dry and warm. In addition, vet bed provides appropriate traction.

Puppies are socialized early on to other adults and children. Puppies frequently go on socialization outings where they encounter different people and different enviroments.

Puppies are started on crate and potty training.

Puppies are dewormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks. Prior to going home, puppies see a licensed veterinarian, and are given their first round of vaccinations. Puppies are microchipped prior to going home.

Puppies are sent home with a puppy bag. This includes food to transition with, microchip information, a leash, a blanket with mom and siblings scent, Bocce's bakery treats, toys, AKC limited registration, copy of the contract, and a folder with helpful information.
